There’s nothing like the thrill of finding your first - or your fourth home. I know how hard, yet satisfying, it can be to let go of a house you have loved, to relocate near or far, and how exciting it is to find the house that checks enough of your boxes so that you see ‘home’ instead of house.
After living in many places, in the US and abroad, I sold my longtime home in Los Angeles and returned to NY where I was born and raised. After looking in many areas, my husband and I chose the Hudson Valley and landed in Kingston. The surrounding natural beauty, the walkability of local towns, the great shops and restaurants, minimal traffic, and easy access to NYC reaffirms our choice over and over again.
A lifelong student of the arts, architecture and interior design, I’ve been reading the NY Real Estate section since I was a teenager. I am addicted to online real estate sites – which has been a real primer on marketing.
In my previous career as a documentary television producer, I learned how to listen to, and work with all kinds of people, budgets and schedules to tell a story.
I look forward to meeting you and to facilitate the next chapter in your story, whether it be by selling or buying your home.
Advocacy and Integrity. When we think of the experiences we have had with Ellen Eder, these two words are apparent. Anyone who has ever gone through the grueling process of selling their home and looking for a new place to call home are aware that this process can be harrowing. Furthermore, bargaining for a new home, the inspection processes and all the other intricacies can be daunting. Many times, we asked ourselves, is this the best value for our money? Is this the best fit for us? Ellen was ever present with all the facts we needed to answer those questions. Her superior knowledge of the areas we viewed houses in, the real estate market and the offering process were invaluable to us.
Ellen was thoughtful, insightful, extraordinary and energetic. She has outdone herself, literally hiking up mountains, crossing streams and driving from Ellenville to Woodstock to Pleasantville.
In the end we have two great properties that we cherish and can build on. We continue to have much joy from the properties we purchased, and we are grateful to Ellen for her integrity, honesty and advocacy in helping us to secure our dream.
It was a pleasure working with Ellen Eder. I wasn't about to settle for anything less than finding a home that I love. It took a little over a year, but Ellen found it and made the journey enjoyable. She was always pleasant, very patient and guided me with hope and encouragement.
Ellen Eder did a wonderful job of getting my house ready for pictures, which came out great, and in advising me on the sales price. My house sold in 3 days for over asking price with competitive bidding. She is hardworking, diligent and responsive. and I highly recommend her.
Ellen Eder is a great agent. She was knowledgeable, consistent, and thorough. Very helpful from the long and arduous search for home all the way through to the end of closing. I am glad to have worked with her.
Ellen Eder laid the facts as they were about each area, bringing her knowledge of history, real estate, back up offers, contingencies, encroachment, the language of the community, and the list goes on. Her superior knowledge of the areas, the narratives of specific places were invaluable assets to us. Her knowledge and guidance had no ceiling and in the end the results were the best fit for our family. When we think of Ellen, her name is synonymous with the words advocacy and integrity.
As we navigated the buying process, Ellen was a rock of integrity, showing us areas that she knows would best suit us, even if we did not know it yet. She advocated for us, making sure the price was right, the area was right, the community was right, ensuring a perfect fit with our family’s vision and family’s mission. She was thoughtful, insightful, extraordinary and energetic. She has outdone herself, literally hiking up mountains, crossing streams and driving from Ellenville to Woodstock.
Ellen Eder was very knowledgeable and professional! She gave us many ideas on how to get the house ready to sell! She helped us find a handyman to help with the improvements. Ellen evaluated other similar houses in the neighborhood and suggested a higher price than we expected. When people wanted to negotiate, she encouraged us to stay with the original price! We really appreciated Ellen’s friendship and expertise!
